This
here, people, is Real People Slash. If you decide to read
this type of fic, keep in mind that the people portrayed are
not characters played by actors, but the people themselves
(even though they to some extent play the parts of "famous
people"). I feel vaguely dirty reading RPS (but since
I'm reccing these stories, there must be something good in
them to overcome the dirtiness). The following will be mostly
*NSYNC recs.
JC
is annoying and gullible and is always dating short, pudgy
losers who think they're funny but really aren't. Chris has
a master plan. It starts as one thing, and becomes something
else.
Crime
bosses, a disillusioned P.I., a sophisticated moll, burly
gangsters and sparkling diamonds. Fidelity and treason, love
and lust, black and white. The world is a grey place to exist
in. The greyest place of them all is LA in the 30s.
Read
it. It's lovely, detailed, beautiful and has an incredible
amount of work behind it.
Justin/JC
is sometimes underrated, because of the huge amount of bad
fic the pairing has inspired. It's nice to remember that there
are good ones, too.
This
is a kind of fic I rarely like, because the psychology behind
this kind of story very rarely feels real. I can't say it
rings entirely true here either, but it's such a nice idea.
Also, I don't think this is meant to be a deep fic. And. The
sex scenes are very good.
Normally,
I don't want to rec stories that aren't finished yet, but
this is such a classic by now, I feel I have to. Besides,
this isn't a beginning-middle-end type of story anyway - more
like short stories in a timeline. I can't imagine you'll be
disappointed if you try it.
It's
an AU thing, as you might have guessed from the title.
A
closer look at a fake life, and a real one, and one that maybe
should have been. I wish Jae would write a really long
fic about the one that maybe should have been. I love College
AUs.
Chris
convinces Lance to try some things with him. Sometimes they
like what they try, sometimes not. It's all very un-sentimental
and pretty funny at times. There's a twist at the end, though,
that wraps it up nicely.
This
is mostly dialogue and rather long. *NSYNC play a game where
they pretend they're superheroes. The game gives Lance a way
to put Justin in his place, and it gradually develops into
flirting.
It's
kind of the same theme as Sleeping
Beauty, but in this, it's JC being so used to looking
at Justin as a child, immature and someone who needs to be
taken care of. Then, everything flips, and JC realizes what
he should have noticed a long time ago.
The
idea that this fic builds on is interesting. It has to do
with whether two friends or lovers should know each other
completely or not. Justin is troubled and disappointed and
thinks that he and Chris are drifting apart since he sometimes
feels that he doesn't know what Chris is thinking.

of the page to get to part two and three.
This
is Justin-centric. It seems that all the other bandmembers
are gay, and sleeping with each other. Justin feels left out.
Sounds like a totally weak plot, but Julad has built it out
and made it very psychological.
