Sports
Night is all about the dialogue, so this piece is full of
punning and snappy comebacks. There's also well-written sex,
if you're into that sort of thing =) And, it's long and nice.
Casey
and Dan are in a rut. They try to change that.

Out
of Whack by Bone and Aristide, Jim/Blair (The Sentinel),
2002-01-05
I
felt I should rec this. I don't read that much Sentinel fic
anymore, but this is by Bone and Aristide - it's hot, you
know! (Or perhaps you don't, in which case you should go check
them out at the Soup
Kitchen.)
This
is another one of those long, long PWP's. Blair is unhappy
with his status as oversexed one night stand at the University.
He accidentally overhears some women talking about him:
"It's
like a rite of passage at Rainier. Like papering the trees
after finals, or tossing tapioca out the caf window. Getting
laid by Blair Sandburg is practically a requirement for
graduation."
/.../
"You
know, I thought men only treated other men like that. It's
not like we're hanging out in public restrooms looking for
a quickie."
Blair
decides to take their comments to heart and start in on the
men. Jim realises he wants Blair for himself and objects.

link, and you'll find the story.
Snape's
got a new obsession. It's a boy. More precisely, it's the
Boy Who Lived. Pity the boy in question is a student, and
underage to boot.
Oh,
the yearning of it all... The ache of reliving a single
kiss over and over simply because you're not allowed to be
with your love.
Rest
assured, there's no real action while Harry is underage. There
are however some situations, starting when he is 15 - just
so you know.

Chiaroscuro
by Lorena,
Trowa/Quatre and other 'ships (Gundam Wing AU), 2001-12-15
I
surprised myself when I began reading Gundam Wing. I started
out with Heero/Duo, but then recently I found myself reading
Trowa/Quatre, which I should have thought would be unbearably
sweet.
Of
course it is. Generally.
Lorena
has the five pilots enrolled in a Catholic boarding school
(which is kind of funny when you consider that Quatre is a
Moslem). If you like to poke fun at Catholic institutions,
this is very funny reading. Apart from that, the boys actually
have believable relationships (all right, a little too sweet
sometimes, but very realistic when you compare them to certain
other GW fics).
Have
I mentioned I like Jane St. Clair and Te working together?
This
is another one of their very nice collaborations. Just scroll
down the page until you get to the Handbasket series. On the
way, please note all the other great fics they've written.
Warning:
underage Bobby - just so you know, he's fifteen (and Hank
is nineteen).
There's
a really long sex scene in here, but that isn't what grabs
me, though. It's Bobby's vulnerability and hurting that gets
to me. The way that he's both older and younger than he's
supposed to be. How Hank angsts about their relationship but
then gives in with a vengeance.
This
is long, nice and strange. Oz is fascinating and thoughtful,
Nate is wounded and young-old. Lots of sex, interesting scenery,
strange worlds flitting by.
I
keep wishing they'd write a sequel for this in the X-men universe.
Here
we go - big warning for bdsm. It's really the heart of these
stories. If you don't like bdsm, skip them.
The
Q/P 'ship is fascinating. Q the all-powerful being and Picard
the responsible but fiery Captain. The story starts with Q
accepting a bet from another Q to seduce Picard. He does,
but in the end has great difficulties in accepting the resulting
closeness with Picard. For Picard, the lie of their relationship
is hard to bear, especially in regard to the nature of their
connection.
Tip:
Skip the epilogue of the first part.

Surrender
by Killa, Kirk/Spock
(Star Trek: The Original Series), 2001-09-30
This story has slight bdsm leanings, so if you feel you can't
handle that, you might want to skip this fic. (It's all really
very mild, though.)
In
the story, Kirk is weighted down by responsibilities, imagined
as well as real, and Spock makes him let go and open up. I
like the way Killa has written Spock - the way he regards
himself almost with disbelief as he takes the final steps
that will make what is about to happen inevitable. And Kirk
gives up so beautifully. He needs so badly to let go
and let Spock, his trusted friend, in. You get the feeling
that he's so tightly strung that he's on the point of losing
his sanity. And then we get some splendid hot sex in the release.
Killa
is a talented Highlander writer as well, so be sure to check
out her work.
