Highlander
is one of my absolute favourite fandoms. I've totally fallen
for Methos. Any recs found here will be for fics with the
Really Old Guy paired with either Duncan MacLeod or Richie
Ryan.
Methos
finally gets his head cut off. No, it's not a death fic!
This
is a strange story full of gore, blood and a weird Highlander
form of schizofrenia (and no, it's not a Dark Quickening fic
either).
Seriously, this is a disturbing read. I'm not sure if this
is a slash fic per se, but it reads as preslash if you want
it to. What Methos wants above all is to live, and he's prepared
to do anything to go on living. Duncan has a problem watching
Methos do what he has to.
Richie
needs a teacher since MacLeod feels he can't trust himself
not to kill him, and Methos offers an ancient form of apprenticeship.
The series are basically about Methos seducing Richie into
a teacher/student relationship based on absolute obedience.
The arrangement turns out to be just what Richie needs to
grow.
I
like the way Richie has a real difficulty getting over the
abuse in his past and learning to trust Methos.
While
you're at her page, read the Fully
Interactive Sex Manual
as well. This author writes quite a bit of discipline stories,
if you go for that sort of thing.
I
do love a masterful Methos. Duncan thinks that having sex
with a man will be no different from with a woman. Methos
shows him he's wrong, and Duncan has to push a few of his
boundaries out of the way.
This
is another one of Aristide's lovely fics. It's about the difference
between being reckless and adventurous. Methos dares Duncan
into having sex with him. Very hot. Great Duncan trembling
with fear and desire in a completely believeable way. I think
I've mentioned this author's talent for writing before. A
nice table-turner at the end, too.
Check
out the rest of the Zine Futures
Without End while you're there. Issue four should be out
soon.

White
Rabbit
by Dargelos, DM/M, Kronos, Joe, OMC's, 2001-10-15
Think
1969. The Old Dead Guys (the only all-Immortal rock band out
there) are on tour. Sex, Drugs and Rock'n Roll, literally.
Ever wonder what Methos did before he met Duncan? Look no
further.
Seriously,
this is a very solid piece of work (a novel, actually) - worked
through and logically presented. Even Kronos's insaneish evil
is explained to satisfaction.
This
is a story I find myself re-reading from time to time. It
features CuriousVirgin!Duncan and Reluctant!Methos making
the moves of a complicated dance of desire and trust. Duncan
is trying to convince his friend Methos to show him what being
with another man is all about, while Methos is afraid to get
too close to the Highlander, since he is in love with Duncan
and doesn't want to get hurt. When Methos finally gives in
to Duncan's persistance it makes for some very hot scenes.
Especially when Methos loses his patience.
The
author also goes by the name Mairead Triste when she writes
angstier fics, and both of her personas do excellent work.
You can find more of her work at The
House of Slack.
