This
is a "Buffy is dead" fic. Giles is thinking of running
away from it all and Spike needs to find a way to stop him.
It's raw and bitter and very interesting character-wise.
Warning,
warning. This is a death fic. It's about drug abuse. I read
this today and felt frustrated and sad. I normally don't go
for death fics, but this one snuck up on me. It's about a
weak Xander who just keeps slipping back into addiction. Even
Giles' love isn't enough to save him in the end. It's so unfair!

This
is a fascinating series of shortish fics. They feature a frustrated
Xander with a twisted need for sexual violence (so if you
don't want to read about that, you don't have to follow the
link, I promise!). Ethan Rayne has just the personality to
help him with that need...
Very
intense, and full of unresolved tension between Ethan and
Giles as well as Xander and Giles.
Even
more Te (she's kind of a favourite author of mine, if you
hadn't figured that out already). She seems to work really
well with Jane St Clair. They write the most delicious sex
scenes. Read more Jane here.
Now
to Transfer: It's an Oz/Xander thing, from just after Xander
got caught kissing Willow. Oz has a strange way of making
him pay. A confused, demanding meeting ending up in Oz's van.
All the way through we hear Xander's thoughts, very well written
indeed.
A
second hand clamps over his mouth. And
nose. Not enough air and for a good few seconds things are
greying through the general black-and-whiteness of the dark.
Tries
to relax, and maybe he's not gonna die, because the hand
eases down from over his nose, and he starts to get
that whoever's holding him down is shorter than him, and
maybe he could run if he had enough something-or-other in
his jelly legs to even hold himself up. Dried fruit, maybe.
The tough kind that's like what he imagines eating skin
must be like, that you get in green jell-o molds.
"Flesh
remembers, and flesh can get so close to your soul".
This is what's quoted on the cover for this story (remember
to look at the cover - it's beautiful!) and it's definitely
a good choice for a quote. The Post-Grad series is the story
of a suicidal Xander who gets addicted to an un-chipped(!)
Spike.
There's
some violence and blood and issues of consensuality in this
fic, but that's exactly what I like about it. That and the
gradual seduction of Xander to "the Dark side" -
the way that he's convinced that he's already kinky, but Spike
has so much more to show him. And everything doesn't
go down easy.
Te
has lots and lots of wonderful stories, and I'll be reccing
quite a few of them, I think.
